More privacy when obtaining test results from front desk (a full waiting room which could include neighbours can also hear your results)

What we are doing to improve?

We are aware that our reception area is open and fully appreciate your concerns. We do encourage our patients to ask for privacy – we can always offer a room to receive sensitive information. Our reception team should ask if you are happy for your results to be read out, prior to doing so…if you prefer please do ask our reception team to print out copies of any results so your privacy is maintained

What are we doing to improve?

We do plan to look into the possibility of a new telephone system for our patients later this year- time and finances allowing. As a practice we would have to pay for this new facility.

Was able to get a sample tested & antibiotics required on very short notice with no appointment.

I phoned today for an apt for my son at 8:31am, the receptionist that answered my call was extremely rude, I was gobsmacked in the manner I was dealt with.

Train your receptionists properly – we are patients not nuisances.

What are we doing to improve?

Apologies for how you felt our reception team handled your telephone call. As you can see from all the other comments this is not the norm for this practice or our staff. There is no excuse for the manner in which you were spoken to and we will strive to ensure this does not happen again.

We have investigated and we had two members of staff phone in sick that morning, with clinics having to be cancelled at very short notice, so the stress levels were extremely high. We trust an appointment was given and your son was seen on the day of the request; Apologies once again

What we are doing?

It has come to our attention that some patients are complaining that they / fellow patients are choosing to queue outside the practice at 8:30am. We would like to point out that we do not encourage patients to do this as we are aware that;

  • Patients are unwell
  • It may be cold and wet

Patients that phone the practice between 8:30-9:00am are guaranteed an appointment for the same day with A Doctor.

Due to this, we have to put a member of staff on Reception during this busy period when they could be answering the phone.

If you choose to queue at 8:30 that is entirely your choice, however as a Practice, we do not encourage you to do so.
